Nerds an Untapped Resource
No, we’re not suggesting that we erect oil derricks on the heads of nerds, in an effort drill for black gold on their greasy dork scalps. That would be cruel. We’re talking about harnessing the static electricity produced by their busy little minds.
Did you know that the energy from a single geek produces enough power to run a hamster wheel for 30 seconds ? I can hear the nay sayers now. “Hey … hamster wheels don’t need electricity to run…they’re powered by hamsters.” Ok smart asses, you got me on that one. Let me put it this way…. Imagine all the hamsters in the world were eaten by snakes, and there were no hamsters left in the world to run mankind’s hamster wheels. Think about it for a moment…millions of children around the world staring at motionless hamster wheels. Do you really want to live in a world like that? Well do you?
OK I’m running off on a bit of a tangent here. My point is that nerd power properly harnessed, could significantly cut our dependence on foreign oil. Sure one nerd can only run one hamster wheel for 30 seconds. But 10,000 nerds could run a Ferris wheel for a whole hour! Ha hah!!…Now what do you think about my idea? Sounds doable doesn’t it?
