Last weekend I was on a step ladder pruning a tree. I couldn’t reach the top branches so I stood on the very top and stretched out as far as I could with the snippers reach them. Suddenly, the ladder fell over and crashing to the ground I went.
My faithful dog bandit, upon hearing the commotion, rushed to my side to see if he could help…or so I thought. However, being the little opportunist he is, instead of running for help, or at least staying by my side to comfort and protect me, he saw an opportunity to give my ass a thorough sniffing. Something he wouldn’t dare try to do if I wasn’t laying on the ground with the wind knocked out of me.
Later on I thought…I wonder if Lassie would have done that?
